What We Can Do on Weekends

As we know, weekend is the most awaited moment in a week. Yet for some people (especially the workaholics or single), weekend is the most dull moment in a week. It is not because they are not happy of having free time to enjoy, but mostly because they have no idea how to spend the days. Most people spend their weekend with partying, hanging out with relatives, shopping, or travelling. But what if we don't do party, have no friends to hang out with, have insufficient money to shop and travel?
Weekend will be... how to say? hmm... awkward. Since it seems like all people are very excited to it and we don't.
So, now I want to share some uselessful activities if we are in situation like this.

#1. HIBERNATE

It is good to hibernate, sometimes. I don't mean like polar bears and some animals that hide in their cave and sleep all day long. But just to have longer sleep than usual. Maybe some people think that it is procrastinating, but rest is an important thing to do after working and being busy in five days. When we are tired, it is harder to sleep because usually our body is stiff and our mind is stressful of daily activity. Weekend is a golden opportunity to sleep well and have full rest. The National Sleep Foundation suggest seven to nine hours of sleep for adults. Taking nap is also a healthy activity instead of procrastinating. I have found some books that explain about the good effect of taking nap. It is said that taking nap is useful to increase stamina and productivity. It is also good to relief stress and reduce the stiffness of body.
So, when it's weekend and you don't have any good plan to do. Prepare an oversize T-shirt, hot pant, and a glass of hot chocolate... Hide under your favorite blanket.. and start to hibernate.

NB: Don't sleep MORE than 9 hours since it is dangerous for your health. Also try to nap around twenty minutes to an hour. More than that, you will enter to deeper stage of sleep, It will be harder for you to get up and will make you become a sleepy head all day long.

#2. TIDY UP

Being busy for five days, leaving home uninhabited on day, come back on night just to sleep, and back again to work may cause to disastrous scene of our home. It should be dusty and dirty. You may find stack of unironed clothes, unwashed dishes, empty fridge, and dying pets waiting to be fed.
Weekend is a perfect time to manage the chaos.
So, if you are not having party in Friday night, you can have a long good sleep to restore your energy and start to wear an apron in the morning. The day is full of activities to do. Start from shopping in the market to fill the fridge, mop the floor, tidy up the bedroom, wash the dishes, bathing your pets, and cook proper food for yourself. In the end of the day, you will find your house shining and looks as if it is the first time you move to the house.

#3. WATCHING DVDS

Yup! Watching DVD is the most procrastinating  pleasing activity. You can do a vengeance to the busy days that made you unable to visit the cinema. Hunt some blockbuster movies or old movies in DVD store or rental station and take them home. Don't forget to step in a mini market and buy some snacks or popcorn. After all are ready, take your coziest position on a couch and be a potato couch for a day.

#4. SPOIL YOURSELF

Make a visit to Watson after work and buy some face mask, scrubs, hair cream, and any other things for beautify yourself. Go home and make this weekend as a long day of self treatment. You can apply a beautiful nail polish and take hours without worry to be called by boss.
After all treatments are finished, you will see the brighter you in front of the mirror. While your friends are burnt due to the sun bathing or looks weary after doing some activities in weekend, you are fresher, brighter, and looks more manicured.

Those are some advice that I can share about facing weekend without being awkward. We still have many things to do. Sure we can't brag about where to go or what we did on weekend, but we can enjoy the effects of doing those (unimportant) activities.

Enjoy your weekend, folks!
